Now I’ve beaten all three versions of Street Fighter 3 with Yun. The easiest is probably 2nd Impact, as Gill is not even the last boss (Yun’s brother, Yang is), and he doesn’t have the nasty resurrect.
You can also see how the game becomes more “barebone”, as new characters are added. First background quality degrades with 2nd Impact, then with 3rd Strike there are no win screens anymore.

I’ve been trying to “get” Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike many times, maybe since 2004 when it was first emulated. But it took me an hour in a real arcade to finally start to understand it.
The 30th Anniversary Collection is probably the best version for a couple of reasons. First, it has a training mode, something most of the original games lacked.
And I’m actually impressed by its “arcade” filter, which turned out to be pretty close to the real arcade.
The character I picked this time is Yun. Not because he’s considered one of the strongest characters by the experts: I’m too dumb to use his juggling abilities. But because his basic attacks are very strong.
This time I even managed to beat Gill. The boss has a nasty ability to ressurect himself with full health, if he has a full meter when downed. Even if you manage to survive his comeback, he usually wins with a timer. So, I won with a timer as well 😝

I’m pretty excited about Street Fighter 6. After adding a Drunken Boxer, now they add a proper Snake Style fighter:
Clearly same mechanics as FANG, but looks so much better.

Street Fighter V Arcade Edition

Street Fighter IV со всеми персонажами назывался Ultra Street Fighter IV? Назовем Street Fighter V со всеми персонажами Arcade Edition! Чтобы никого не запутать, конечно.
Там еще правда вроде 4ый сезон на подходе, но об этом позоре надо будет вообще отдельно написать.
Возвращаясь к Ultra Street Fighter IV, я даже не уверен, какая версия Juri и Chun Li мне нравится больше:

О Street Fighter 3
Уже как-то об этом писал, но впервые Street Fighter 3 я увидел году этак в ’97ом, в форме скриншотов и артворков, кажется в каком-то израильском журнале. И артворки меня тогда впечатлили куда больше скриншотов. В особенности образ Necro с шышками на голове.
Спустя много лет я запустил Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike на эмуляторе Dreamcast’а. Анимация осталась столь же изумительной, но вот никаких похожих артворков я не увидел. Потом я возвращался к 3rd Strike еще неоднократно. Но только недавно до меня дошло, что предыдущие две версии я так толком никогда и не видел, всегда отдавая предпочтение последней из трех версий, с наибольшим количеством персонажей. И, как оказалось, зря.
После TonTon Club узнал, что за проливом есть еще один клуб аркадных автоматов, Blast Galaxy.
Добираться туда проще всего на пароме, причем паром долгий – минут пятнадцать. Под конец абсолютно неожиданно проплываешь мимо такой красавицы:
Я просто глазам своим не поверил по началу.
Все же иначе как позором Street Fighter 5 назвать сложно.
Половина персонажей доступны только если купил DLC.
